Business Plan Sections
To fulfill the three purposes of a business plan that we've already discussed (planning, communication, and management), include a section for each of the following areas:
- Executive Summary
- Market Analysis
- Company Description
- Organization and Management
- Marketing and Sales Management
- Service or Product Line
- Funding Request
- Financials
- Appendix
If you plan to use your business plan to raise capital, you should include a private placement disclaimer. Also, be sure to keep a record of when and to whom you distribute your business plan. This will allow you to update and maintain your business plan as needed.
See the following sections for more detail on how to complete each section of the plan.
